C.J. Allard began his professional passion for motorcycles in 1960. He started out as an avid rider then turned to professional racing. When his racing career ended due to an accident on a desert run in Albuquerque, New Mexico, he turned to his only option left. He opened his own motorcycle dealership and continued with Hondas, the motorcycles he loved most.
Honda of Norfolk was opened in 1967 and he owned and operated Honda of Norfolk until his death in 2004. His wife, Pamela, began working with him in 1974, and is still at the dealership today. Along with her longtime, loyal crew, Pamela hopes to continue with C.J.'s legacy.
Today, the dealership is still in its original location. Even though they could have moved to a more upscale locale, they have opted to remain where they began. Some customers have voiced opinions that Honda of Norfolk should be moved to a more convenient spot, but the crew at Honda of Norfolk love their roots.
